| Samruk-Kazyna and Renaissance Capital intend to collaborate on establishment of the
government Distressed Asset Fund |
ALMATY, November 27, 2008 – National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna and Renaissance Capital announced their collaboration on setting up the Distressed Asset Fund (DAF) initiated by the Government of Kazakhstan to support the country’s financial sector within the framework of the accepted stabilization program. Renaissance Capital will act as operational partner of Samruk-Kazyna and will take part in the development of DAF’s operational strategy.
Samruk-Kazyna and Renaissance Capital will work jointly with the government’s existing advisors to ensure the restructuring of problem banking assets.
