| Renaissance Capital continues international expansion with appointment of John Porter as head of ECM for New Markets |
London - Renaissance Capital, the world's leading investment bank for high-opportunity emerging markets, has hired John Porter as Head of Equity Capital Markets for its New Markets business.
Porter will join Renaissance Capital after a long and distinguished career at Morgan Stanley, where he was latterly Managing Director and Head of Financing for the Middle East and Africa, based in Dubai. During his 17 years at Morgan Stanley, Porter's other roles included equity origination and syndication in London and New York and coverage of clients in sectors such as telecoms and retail. He also helped establish Morgan Stanley's office in Mumbai as part of a deep involvement in the firm's emerging markets business.
At Renaissance, Porter will lead the firm's origination and execution of equity offerings for corporate clients in the international primary capital markets. He will also be a key member of the investment banking management team at Renaissance and will help execute the Group's strategy of leveraging its unparalleled distribution network to expand its banking and capital markets expertise into new frontier markets.
He will report to Neil Harvey, Deputy CEO of Renaissance Group and Head of New Markets and Andrew Cornthwaite, Deputy CEO of Renaissance Capital and Head of Investment Banking.
