Before joining Renaissance Group in August 2007, Mr. Bruens spent 16 years at ABN AMRO. As from September 2003, he was the Global Head of Investor Relations. His prior experience at ABN AMRO also includes being the Head of Financial Markets for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, responsible for all trading, sales and origination activities in Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Dubai and South Africa. He also served as a Management Committee member & Treasurer for Saudi Hollandi Bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 1998 until 2002. From 1996 to 1998 he was the Treasurer of ABN AMRO Greece. Mr Bruens started his career at ABN AMRO in 1991 as a Management Trainee, and worked as a currency and interest rate derivatives trader in its London dealing room from 1993 to 1996.
Mr. Bruens earned his Masters of Business Studies degree from Groningen University in the Netherlands, and holds an MBA in Finance with distinction from the Manchester Business School (UK).
