Mr. Kambar joined Renaissance Capital in 2007 and since that time has built the Firm’s market-leading business in Central Asia from its regional headquarters in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He is also head of the Special Situations Group.

Previously Mr. Kambar headed Russia and CIS Debt Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch as well as developed the company’s business for CEEMEA. He built Merrill Lynch’s Russian and Ukrainian cash and structured products business.

From 2000 to 2003 Mr. Kambar was Head of CEEMEA Capital Markets Origination at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, as well as Board Member of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein LLC, Moscow. He built what was at the time the No.1 CIS debt capital markets business.

Mr. Kambar started his career at SBC Warburg, London with a focus on debt capital markets in emerging markets and the marketing of new bond issues, structured products and derivatives in the Middle East, North Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Cyprus and Turkey.

Mr. Kambar is a graduate of University College, London.
