Prior to joining the Renaissance Group, Mr. Yurgens was the Executive Secretary of the Russian Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs (RSPP), the leading business lobbying organization in Russia. His previous positions include Chairman of the Financial Markets Committee, Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2000-2004), head of the All-Russian Insurance Association (1998-2000), Chairman of the Board of MESKO Insurance Company (1996-1997) and First Deputy of the Trade Union Confederation (1992-1997).
Having graduated from Moscow State University in 1974, he has a PhD in Economics and is the author of numerous articles and publications. Igor Yurgens is the recipient of several State and international awards, including the Order of Merit (Russian Federation); I’Ordre National du Merite (France), Order of St. Sergey Radonejsky (Russian Orthodox Church) amongst many others.
