Renaissance Capital named Most Innovative Bank from Central and Eastern Europe

Recognised by The Banker’s Investment Banking Awards for the second consecutive year

Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging and frontier markets investment bank, is delighted to announce that it has been named the Most Innovative Bank from Central and Eastern Europe in 2019 in The Banker magazine's annual 'Investment Banking Awards'. Last year, The Banker named Renaissance Capital the Most Innovative Bank for Emerging Markets.

This year’s award emphasizes Renaissance Capital’s unparalleled track record across the CEE markets. The Firm stands out for its unique product offering and an innovative approach which distinguishes it from other sector players.

In 2018-2019, Renaissance Capital continued to promote debut investment stories out of CEE, putting new notable regions on investor radars such as Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia. The Firm’s most recent landmark transaction included:

  • successive debut international senior US$300mln bond offering and debut US$125mln Additional Tier I bank capital issue for TBC, largest bank in Georgia. The debut AT1 Issue represents the largest hybrid bank capital issue out of Georgia;
  • debut 144(A) / Reg S US$300mn high yield bond offering for TransOil – inaugural international bond offering out of Moldova;
  • debut domestic Russian Rouble issue for Eurotorg, the largest retailer in Belarus – the first cross-border bond financing for a Belarusian corporate in the Russian domestic market;
  • $460mn acquisition of 25% in Etalon Group PLC and simultaneous sale of 51% in Leader-Invest by Sistema – a complex transaction, involving two LSE-listed Russian companies;
  • $125mn convertible bond issue for Petropavlovsk, an LSE-listed gold company – a successful return of Petropavlovsk to the markets since 2017 and the only convertible issuer out of the region rated below BB.
