Renaissance Capital wins Euromoney’s Best Investment Bank in Russia award

Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging and frontier markets investment bank, is proud to announce that it has been named the Best Investment Bank in Russia in 2018 in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2019.

This is one of the industry’s most eminent awards and highlights Renaissance Capital’s pivotal role in the development of the domestic capital market and leadership in international capital markets transactions from Russia. With more than a 20-year successful track record, the Firm has led some of the most significant and historic deals in the Russian market.

In 2018, Renaissance Capital continued to build on its extensive track record of innovative and benchmark deals with outstanding results, including: Gazprom’s international bond offerings in euros and Swiss francs (the CHF750mn five-year offering achieving the lowest ever coupon by an EMEA corporate); benchmark eurobond offerings for Russian corporates Phosagro, Polyus and Rusal; the first ever consent solicitation for an international issuer in the Russian market – a local RUB KTZ issue; and the US$240mn Magnit buyback with an innovative structure, among others.

Dmitry Gladkov, Acting Global Head of Investment Banking and Global Head of Financing Group, Renaissance Capital, commented: “We are delighted to be so distinguished and win the Euromoney award. Renaissance Capital consistently ranks among the major players in emerging market primary eurobonds, ranking as a leading arranger of Russian international placements and demonstrating rapid growth. With a strong pipeline of deals we are perfectly positioned to further strengthen our foothold in debt capital markets.”

Petr Molchanov, Head of Investment Banking in Russia and CIS, Renaissance Capital, added: “The Euromoney award is one of the most treasured in the industry and we are happy to win. Renaissance Capital has extensive experience in launching new investment stories and arranging debut and benchmark transactions for emerging market borrowers and issuers. We are the go-to investment bank thanks to our unmatched capabilities and one of the largest distribution platforms in the market, providing access to a wide investor base.”

Renaissance Capital’s track record in emerging and frontier markets is consistently acknowledged by industry awards and rankings. Most recently, in the Extel survey, Renaissance Capital was voted one of the top frontier markets’ brokerage houses, with Charles Robertson voted #1 Frontier Markets Analyst for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, the Firm’s Africa research team recorded an outstanding performance in the 2019 Financial Mail Top Analyst Awards, where for the first time, every single one of Renaissance Capital’s South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa analysts was rated in the Top 3.
