1995 – Renaissance Capital is established in Moscow by a group of founding partners, with the vision of bringing investment banking services to exciting and new emerging markets.

1996 – Renaissance Capital opens its office in New York

1998 – The Firm receives an FSA licence and establishes international sales operations in London, becoming the first Russian investment bank to be registered as a full member of the London Stock Exchange four years later.

2006 – Renaissance Capital launches operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, gradually building its presence on the continent from Lagos and Nairobi.

2008 – ONEXIM Group, one of the largest investment groups in Russia, forms a strategic partnership with Renaissance Capital and acquires a 50% stake in the Firm’s share capital.

2010 – Renaissance Capital acquires Barnard Jacobs Mellet Securities, a South African stock brokerage, further cementing its presence in the country.

2012 – ONEXIM Group acquires a further stake in Renaissance Capital, successfully becoming a 100% shareholder in the Firm.

2014 – Renaissance Capital initiates coverage of almost 50 regional stocks and launches trading in the Middle East markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman and Tunisia.

2015 – Further expanding its Pan-African offering, the Firm establishes an office in Cape Town, thus creating the biggest investment banking platform in Sub-Saharan Africa with four offices and more than 80 professionals on the ground.

2017 – Renaissance Capital receives a licence to operate in Cairo, Egypt, focusing on investment banking, financing and research.

2019 – Renaissance Capital becomes a trading member of Astana International Exchange (AIX) in Kazakhstan.
